Tesla to build Gigafactory in Nevada

Tesla Motors and the Nevada governor's office will make an announcement in Carson City, on Thursday. It is likely Nevada is the destination for Tesla's $5 billion gigafactory. Bloomberg News and CNBC are reporting that Tesla has awarded the project to Nevada. Arizona, California, New Mexico and Texas were the other bidders. The new factory will product up to 500,000 battery packs by 2020. The battery packs will like be installed in Tesla's upcoming Model 3, meant to be a cheaper alternative to the flagship Model S luxury Car and Model X SUV. via Forbes
